Shipping Policy

Thank you for inviting a MontCarta painting into your world. Each piece is hand-painted, packaged, and shipped with the exact same care and attentiveness with which it was created. This page explains how this journey works—from the easel to your wall.

At the Easel

Once your order is placed, the artist begins painting. Most artworks take between three to seven business days to complete. Some require a few extra days—oils and acrylics dry at their own pace, and a heavily textured canvas cannot be rushed.

After the canvas leaves the studio, you will receive an email containing tracking information.

On Artist Signatures

By default, MontCarta paintings do not feature an artist signature—we prefer the artist-created surface to remain undisturbed. If you would like a signed piece, please mention it at checkout or write to the curator at art@montcarta.com before the painting begins.

Free, Worldwide

We offer free shipping to anywhere. Every MontCarta canvas is shipped via DHL Express, FedEx, or UPS—the most trusted carriers for high-value shipments.

Depending on the destination and size, it usually takes 4 to 8 business days to travel from the studio to your home.

If your country/region is not listed at checkout, please write to us at art@montcarta.com and we will see if we can reach you.

Customs & Duties

For customers in the United States, we cover all customs fees and import duties.

For shipments to other countries, customs and duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Local thresholds and rates vary, so please familiarize yourself with your country's import regulations before ordering.

MontCarta cannot be held responsible for delays caused by customs clearance outside the United States, nor for any additional fees incurred as a result.

Packaging

The way your canvas travels depends on the option you choose at checkout:

  • Rolled Canvas Art: Shipped rolled inside a high-quality, hard cardboard tube. This is ideal if you wish to stretch and frame the canvas your own way.
  • Small Framed or Stretched Art: Shipped flat in a sturdy and well-protected cardboard box using high-grade protective materials. It is ready to hang right out of the box.
  • Large Paintings: Shipped in a custom wooden crate using high-grade protective materials. It is ready to hang right out of the box.
  • All three options are designed to absorb the bumps of a transcontinental journey and arrive in studio condition.

Insured, End to End

From the moment it leaves the studio until it reaches your hands, every shipment is insured against loss or damage.

If your painting arrives damaged, please write to us at returns@montcarta.com with photos of the canvas and packaging taken from various angles. Photos are essential. With them, we can settle the claim with the carrier and fully refund the price of the canvas as well as the return shipping fees. Without them, a claim cannot be filed.

For detailed information regarding returns, exchanges, and refunds, please refer to our Return Policy.

Cancelling a Custom Commission

Commissioned pieces follow a separate cancellation policy, as each is painted for a specific individual and cannot be resold:

  • Cancellation before the canvas is shipped: A 90% refund will be issued; the remaining balance is retained as the artist's cost fee.
  • Cancellation after the canvas has shipped: Custom products cannot be resold, so returns and refunds are not accepted once shipped.
  • If the canvas arrives damaged: The standard damage policy applies, with a full refund and return.

For detailed information, please refer to our Return Policy.

Tracking

Once your painting leaves the studio, an email containing tracking information will be sent within approximately 2-3 business days. You can follow its journey from the easel straight to your doorstep.
